Bringing your own probe
If your shop already owns a DeFelsko Bluetooth thickness probe, you can register it with Autoentic and skip the buy-from-us path. This page covers which probes are eligible, when BYOD makes sense versus ordering through us, and what to do next.
Supported probes
Autoentic's app supports two DeFelsko Bluetooth probes. The probe you use determines which panels you can measure on a vehicle:

If your shop owns only one of these, you can still run inspections — the Autoentic app filters panel selection by the probe currently connected. To inspect both metal and non-metal panels in a single session, you'll need both probes.
Other DeFelsko models are not supported
Probes outside the FN3 and PRB200B models will not pair with the Autoentic app. The app reads the probe model code over Bluetooth and rejects unsupported models. If you own a different DeFelsko probe (or a non-DeFelsko gauge), email [email protected] before assuming it works.
When BYOD makes sense
- You already own one or both eligible probes. A PosiTector is hardware, not a subscription — re-buying through us doesn't add value.
- Multi-shop deployment. Some operations stage probes across locations; tracking serial numbers in your existing inventory is cleaner than consolidating purchases through us.
- You're familiar with the DeFelsko product line. If you've worked with PosiTector probes in refinishing, automotive QC, or marine, you don't need our buying-experience layer.
When buying through Autoentic makes sense
- Single new operation. One probe, one inspector, no existing hardware. Ordering through us is faster than navigating DeFelsko's distributor network.
- You want returns and warranty coordinated through us. DeFelsko's warranty is direct-to-manufacturer; Autoentic stages the conversation and handles common cases (defect on arrival, address corrections, lost-in-transit).
- First-time DeFelsko buyer. Our buying a probe page covers ship times, the manufacturing cadence DeFelsko runs, and the return window.
