Pairing your probe

Pairing links a physical DeFelsko Bluetooth probe to your shop inside Autoentic. The first pair on a new tablet takes an extra step — a one-time email verification — and every pair after that is instant. This page walks the shop technician through the flow and covers the five things that most often go wrong.

Before you start

  • An Android tablet with the Autoentic app installed and Bluetooth on.
  • A DeFelsko probe, powered on, within a few metres of the tablet.
  • An approved email address — the email your shop used on the Request Access form. The app sends the first-pair verification code there; you can't complete the first pair without it.

Pair inside the app, not from Android settings

The Autoentic app runs its own Bluetooth handshake. Pairing from the tablet's Android Bluetooth settings does not register the probe to your shop — the app will still treat the probe as unregistered. Close Android settings, open the Autoentic app, and pair there.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Autoentic app. The app launches straight to the probe-connect screen. No sign-in screen comes first.

  2. Tap your probe in the scan list. The app scans for nearby probes and lists them by serial number. Tap the row for yours. The app reads the serial over Bluetooth and checks whether it's already registered. If it is, you skip ahead to mode-select. If it isn't, the app moves to the email step.

  3. Enter your approved email, then the 6-digit code. Type the approved email address and tap Send Code. Check the inbox for a 6-digit code and enter it in the app. On success, the app registers the probe to your shop.

  4. Land on mode-select. The app shows the mode-select screen with a green toast reading Paired with [your shop]. You're ready to run an inspection.

What you'll see when it works

After a successful first pair, sign in to autoentic.com/partner/devices in a browser. Your new probe appears as a row in the table with its serial number, its model (for example, PosiTector), the email that registered it, and the date.

From this point forward, any technician who opens the app on this tablet goes straight from the probe-connect screen to mode-select — no email verification, no code. A shop can pair more than one probe; each additional probe runs through the same steps.
